Be a study participant

As you can see from the video above, your participation is important for the development of new HIV and AIDS prevention and treatment strategies and successful community awareness efforts.

What are the risks and benefits to participating in a clinical trial?

A great benefit of participating in a clinical trial is that you not only get additional education about HIV/AIDS, but you may also get effective treatment not yet available to the general public. Risks vary by study, but generally involve treatment side effects and inconveniences such as for travel and time to attend clinic appointments. What happens when you contact us?

During the study screening, our clinical research staff will briefly explain the study. In addition, our staff will tell you about the risk and benefits to the study and will ask you a few questions to determine if you are eligible to participate in the study. If you are not eligible, we will keep your information in our records to let you know of future studies. If you are eligible, you will be asked to visit the clinic for a physical examination and completion of any required enrollment documentation.
